        SKIN SAVER REMEDIES: BANANA
Banana - the inner surface of the ripe banana skins have healing and rejuvenating properties. It can be used as a drawing agent beneficial for splinters, boils, corns and warts. It is useful to smooth and minimise facial expression lines, for scar tissue, acne scars and rashes. Warts- Place the inside white mushy part of the banana skin onto warts and cover with a band aid. Renew and replace banana skin every evening until warts disappear.
The fresh juice of the banana stem is useful for blisters, burns and abscesses. The young green leaves make an excellent wrap and plaster for burns and blisters.
A poultice of ripe banana peel is used to relieve migraines, apply to the forehead and back of the neck. Green banana skins are grated and dried or burned to ash in Curacao and then applied to herpes lesions, leg ulcers and cancerous sores.
A ripe banana skin can be used as a plaster and placed over burns and wounds, then cover with a cloth.
For inflammation and blisters the young banana leaves are used for dressings. The inside of the skin can be used as shoe polish for scuff marks.
